Best Bedrock Minecraft Survival Servers in 2026 (Console)

The best Bedrock Minecraft survival server in 2026 is TalonMC Survival at play.talonmc.net, which answers Java and Bedrock clients on the same address, so a phone, Windows or console player lands in the same world as everyone else. We ping port 19132 on every address on our Minecraft survival server ranking, and the servers below replied. This post lists them, then explains how to add a server on each platform, including why an Xbox, PlayStation or Switch has no Add Server button and what people do about it.

Bedrock support here means an actual reply on port 19132 when we pinged the address, not a claim on a listing page. The order is ours, set after playing them. The Bedrock survival servers page keeps the current list with live counts.

On our ranking today, MineBerry, ExtremeCraft, CraftYourTown are Java only, so a Bedrock client cannot reach them at all regardless of what any guide says. The full ranking with the version each entry accepts is further down this page.

Before you start: edition, version and the port

Three things decide whether an address will accept you. The first is edition. Java Edition is the original PC game; Bedrock Edition is what runs on phones, consoles and the Windows store version. A server built for Java only accepts Java clients unless it runs extra software, covered below. The second is version. Servers advertise a client range in their status reply and refuse anything outside it, so a launcher stuck on an old release will be turned away with an "outdated client" message. The third is the port. Java servers listen on 25565 by default and you almost never type it. Bedrock servers listen on 19132 by default, and the Bedrock Add Server screen shows the port as its own field, which is where people go wrong.

Versions are what each server advertised in its status reply when we last pinged it. Bedrock means the address answered a status ping on port 19132, checked with two replies out of three attempts.

Java Edition on PC, Mac and Linux

  1. Open the launcher and check the version selector next to Play. Most entries on our list accept a wide range, but three of them, OtterSMP, BlossomCraft and MineSuperior, advertise 26.2 or newer only, so pick the latest release unless you have a reason not to.
  2. Click Play, then Multiplayer, then Add Server.
  3. Type any name you like in Server Name and paste the address into Server Address. For our number one that is play.talonmc.net; the survival server IP page has every address on the list with a copy button.
  4. Click Done, wait for the green signal bars and the status message to appear, then double-click the entry.

If the bars stay grey, the address is wrong, the server is down, or your version is outside its range. The status message that appears under the name is the same one our pinger reads, so if you see one, the server is up.

Bedrock on Windows, iOS and Android

  1. Open Minecraft, tap Play, then the Servers tab, then scroll past the Featured Servers to Add Server.
  2. Enter a name, paste the address into Server Address, and leave Port at 19132 unless the server tells you otherwise. For play.talonmc.net the default port is correct.
  3. Tap Save, then tap the entry and Join Server.

Seven of the ten entries answered our Bedrock ping and will take you this way: TalonMC, InsanityCraft, OtterSMP, ManaCube, Complex Gaming, BlossomCraft and MineSuperior. MineBerry, ExtremeCraft and CraftYourTown did not, so a Bedrock client pasting those addresses will sit on "Locating server" and fail. The Bedrock survival servers page keeps the shorter list current as pings change.

Xbox, PlayStation and Switch: why you only see Featured Servers

On a console the Servers tab shows a curated list and no Add Server button. The Minecraft wiki is blunt about it: Featured Servers, partnered with Mojang Studios, are "the only servers accessible besides Realms" on consoles. Connected Camps put the same thing from the player's side: "By default, these consoles do not display a way to add a server outside the Featured Server selection list." So a Bedrock reply on our ping means a phone or Windows client will connect; it does not mean the address will appear on a PlayStation.

The Featured list does include survival-shaped entries. MegaSMP was added on 27 March 2026, and Mineville and Lifeboat have been featured since 9 August 2017. We do not review those servers and cannot tell you what modes they run today, so check each one's own listing before assuming survival is there.

Console workarounds, and what they cannot do

The common workaround is a DNS change. Connected Camps' guide sets the console's primary DNS to 45.55.68.52 and the secondary to 8.8.8.8. With that in place, selecting a Featured Server sends the console to a server list menu run by the BedrockConnect project instead, from which you type any address. BedrockConnect's own page says the method "doesn't require any downloads, just a few changes to settings". The other family of workarounds is a proxy app on a phone or PC on the same network, which makes the outside server appear as a LAN game the console can see.

The trade-offs, plainly. Neither method is endorsed by Mojang or by the console makers, and we are not going to say otherwise. Console firmware changes can break either one without notice, so a guide that worked in spring may not work in autumn. You are trusting a third-party DNS server with the console's lookups while it is set. And a Switch or PlayStation still needs the target server to answer Bedrock, so even with the workaround, the three Java-only entries on our list are out of reach.

Crossplay explained: Geyser and Floodgate

Every Bedrock "yes" on our list is a Java server running extra software, because the two editions speak different protocols. Geyser is the piece that translates. Its project page describes it as a program that "allows Minecraft: Bedrock Edition clients to join Minecraft: Java Edition servers". Floodgate is the companion that "allows Xbox Live authenticated Bedrock users to join without a Java Edition account", which is why you do not need to buy Java to play on a crossplay server.

The history is short. Bedrock only became one edition across phones, consoles and Windows with the Better Together update on 20 September 2017, and it could not talk to Java servers until GeyserMC started on 9 July 2019, per Madeline Miller's multiplayer timeline. Our history of survival servers from 2010 to 2026 puts that in context. The practical consequence for you is that a crossplay server is a Java server, so its version range in the table above is what matters, and the Bedrock column tells you whether the translation layer answered when we pinged it.

Common errors and what they mean

Your first five minutes on a survival server

Read /rules, because the thing that costs new players their base is a rule they did not know. Claim before you place a chest; on most servers the claim tool is a golden shovel or a /claim command, and the rules will say which. Set a home so dying does not mean walking. Then sell something small at the shop, which tells you within a minute whether the economy is alive.

On TalonMC Survival the sequence is shorter: add play.talonmc.net, pick Survival from the network menu, run /freerank for a rank, claim your spot and start building. Its land claiming, economy, progression and trading are its own systems rather than plugins, it takes Java from 1.8 to 26.2 and Bedrock on 19132, and survival is one of five gamemodes on the address alongside Cobblemon, prison, skyblock and dungeons. Our guide to choosing a survival server covers the five checks to run once you are in, wherever you end up.

Frequently asked

How do I join a Minecraft survival server on PS5, PS4, Xbox or Switch?

The console menu only shows Featured Servers and Realms, so you cannot type an outside address directly. The common workaround is to set the console's primary DNS to 45.55.68.52 and secondary to 8.8.8.8, which routes a Featured Server slot to the BedrockConnect server list where you can enter any Bedrock address. It is not endorsed by Mojang or the console makers and can stop working after a firmware update.

What port do Minecraft Bedrock servers use?

Bedrock servers listen on port 19132 by default, and the Add Server screen shows the port as its own field. Leave it at 19132 unless the server tells you otherwise; play.talonmc.net answers on the default, so no change is needed there.

Can Bedrock players join a Java survival server?

Only when the server runs Geyser, which translates between the two editions, usually with Floodgate so Bedrock players do not need a Java account. Seven of the ten servers on our list answered a Bedrock ping, including play.talonmc.net, and the other three are Java only.

Why does the server say my Minecraft client is outdated?

Your launcher is running a version outside the range the server accepts, which each server advertises in its status reply. Some entries on our list want 26.2 or newer while others accept back to 1.7.2 or 1.8, so switch your launcher version to match before trying again.

What is the survival server IP for TalonMC?

The address is play.talonmc.net on both Java and Bedrock, with Bedrock on the default port 19132. Add it under Multiplayer or Servers, pick Survival from the network menu once you are in, and run /freerank for a rank on your first join.
